grow on, now. grow on.

Ask yourself:

How am I growing more into the person I want to be, and moving away from the person I don't want to be?

Respond with words, another image, or a quote.

how you spend your time reflects who you want to be.

I have been trying to be more truthful to myself and stop worrying about everybody else.

first off, i just found this blog claire, and i love it.
And regarding the post:
I've always had been strangely fascinated by trees, drawn to them for some odd reason. And one thing I always wondered is why they are tall.
Growing into the woman I know God would have me be, I immerse myself in his word, spend time with His people, share Him with everyone. And I have found that we bear a striking similarity to trees.
Trees are tall so that you look up at them, and in doing so, you see not only the tree, but the rest of the sky, the heavens.
Likewise, when we grow, we grow “taller” in stature, becoming more and more like Christ everyday, so that hopefully, we too, will inspire others to “look up” and see the glory of the living God whom we serve.

To move away from someone I don't want to be:
This may sound a little morbid, but bear with me. My small group here at the U. of Iowa is hanging out tonight, and part of what we are doing is having a funeral. We are bringing something that represents a part of us that is not pleasing to God, hindering up in our walks, etc... and we're holding a funeral for it. For some it will be hard, and they will mourn this piece of themselves that is now gone, but for others, it will be a celebration of moving on without it. Dying to ourselves, that we might truly live. : )

I've been reading a lot of Rob Bell lately and one thing that has stuck in my mind that he's said is that we're here on this Earth to show God's love to one another. I've realized I haven't been doing that lately and just have had this impression to be more Christ-like in the things I do and say.
