To begin, some background on the Proust Questionnaire:
The Proust Questionnaire is a questionnaire about one's personality, first popularized by the responses given by the French writer Marcel Proust. When Marcel was at a friend's birthday party at the age of 13, they were instructed to fill out the answers to these questions for fun! Pretty deep stuff for such an occasion, and at such an age! Proust did not make up the questions, but he is known for answering them- both at age 13, and again at age 20, to note the differences. If you'd like to see all of the questions and both answers from Proust, at both ages, check out this site: http://www.chick.net/proust/question.html. These questions are now used in every issue of the magazine Vanity Fair, where famous people are asked the Proust questions so readers can learn more about them.
I'm going to post some of them here and answer them myself. Bear with the questions if they seem confusing, they were answered in 1884 and created sooner! Please do as you did with the "Getting To Know You" questions. Repost with your own answers!
1)Where would you like to live? *Wherever, so long as I'm with those that I love. Oh, also, I want to avoid anywhere that can be labeled "the middle of nowhere."
2)What is your idea of earthly happiness?*Knowing the joy and abundant life that comes from Christ. Loving someone and being loved by someone who loves God, and seeks to love you out of that, Love itself.
3)Who are your favorite heroes of fiction?*Atticus Finch
4)Your favorite musician?*I can’t pick one. The Weepies, Eastmountainsouth, Caedmon’s Call….
5)The quality you most admire in a man?*Kindness
6)The quality you most admire in a woman?*Passion and outspokenness, but not at the expense of others.
7)Who are your favorite poets?*Neruda, Rilke
8) What are your favorite names?*Chloe, Elle, Isaac, Isaiah
9) What is it you most dislike?*Mean-spiritedness
10) What is your present state of mind?* Calm, but a little achy from missing someone.
11)What do you most value in your friends?*A positive outlook. No Debbie Downers, please.
12)What is your principle defect?*The fact that I can have a hard time admitting to them.
13)What is your favorite occupation?* I’m going to agree with Proust on this one. “Loving.”
14)What would you like to be?*Truly known by those I want to be truly known by, and by myself. A person who is continually growing up in God’s love, sharing that love with others.

1)Where would you like to live? Well someday maybe back in IL but I'm not sure, wherever family and a job is
2)What is your idea of earthly happiness?Being able to show others God and finding happiness within that. Also, having good or bad days and knowing thats its alright because God is always with me and he's got it under control.

5)The quality you most admire in a man? I'm not sure if this is just one thing, the ability to understand I have emotions, see them (not necessarily understand them), but at least respect them

10) What is your present state of mind? Very sleepy and ready to see my parents tomorrow. More than anything, happy and more than content. Perfect right now.
11)What do you most value in your friends? Their support, love, and working to keep our friendships goings even at a distance sometimes

14)What would you like to be? A teacher, wife, mom, and someone that reflects God well in their life and are happy for any blessings their receive.
1) Where would you like to live? In a chic apartment on the second floor of a storefront in an antique building. Chicago, London, Nairobi. Preferably not the United States for the rest of my life.
2) What is your idea of earthly happiness? Living solely for my King. Loving and being loved by someone living for that same purpose. Being surrounded by people who love Him.

12) What is your principle defect? Not accepting my defects so that I can change them. Getting frustrated easily.
13) What is your favorite occupation? Being— alive, refreshed, in nature, challenged, fascinated, curious, in love, rained on. You name it, I love it.
14) What would you like to be? Able and willing to do God’s will. Joyfully passionate. A fashion designer.
1)Where would you like to live? In the house my grandfather built and my father grew up. Its flanked by a couple acres of woods and a huge, beautiful garden. Or out, in the world beyond what I now know. Anything in nature.
2)What is your idea of earthly happiness? freedom from any sort of fear. Independence, but with the knowledge that I am loved and am loving in return.

Little details that come together. Long walks with friends, a book to curl up with, the moments where you laugh so hard your stomach hurts. Genuine laughter is one of the largest indications of earthly happiness, je pense.

I have a soft spot for Cal Trask, but he's not really a hero. Shasta and Aravis, Eliza Doolittle, Abby Normal

Passion - and by that I don't necessarily mean romantic passion, though that's nice too, but constant enthusiasm rooted in a deep, confidently held belief. So hot. Oh, and humor filled confidence.

Emotional fortitude - women who have the strength to deal with anything and don't let the ridiculous weigh them down.

Keats, Auden, Eliot.

Oliver, James Ulyssess (yeah. nerd moment), Thomas, Rhett. I don't really like girl names...

People who have to be in control of a conversation.

Apprehensive.

Complimentary sense of humor, and acceptance.

I am an elitist and can't relate to people I don't understand, even though I might want to.

Content.
Where would you like to live? Somewhere where I'm in walking/biking distance of everything. I hate to drive and love to be active! Living by the ocean would be lovely too.
2)What is your idea of earthly happiness? Having someone to love and care for. Whether that be a significant other, a mother, or just a friend. And seeing or feeling love every day.
3)Who are your favorite heroes of fiction? Stephanie Plum, she totally rocks my socks off. Also Scarlett O'Hara, even though she was a whiner, that girl was resilient. And Mariam and Laila from A Thousand Splendid Suns were amazing too. Ah too many people!
4)Your favorite musician? Alison Krauss and Union Station. Anything they play, I love. It's that simple.
5)The quality you most admire in a man? Maturity, and having a good heart and not being afraid to use it!
6)The quality you most admire in a woman? Fearlessness and grace.
7)Who are your favorite poets? I won't pretend I know a lot about poetry because I don't, but I've always loved Psalms and Song of Songs in the bible, if those count as poems.

9) What is it you most dislike? People who are mean! What is with them??
10) What is your present state of mind? I'm procrastinating, but otherwise I'm quite content.

12)What is your principle defect? The principle one? That's hard. I'm not very open-minded and that is a large fault of mine.
