"This year, or this month, or, more likely, this very day, we have failed to practice ourselves the kind of behavior we expect from other people."

--C.S Lewis

(think: what do you fail to do that you expect others to do? if you think it to be an important behavior, how can you cultivate it in yourself? maybe a change needs to be made in yourself first, before you ask it of others.

Wow, you hit the nail on the head for my "high school problems" deary. I hid from everyone, I expected others to jump out and be like "Grace, hang out!" when all I did was hide inside myself and reject their invitations with "I'm not having a good day, sorry." Maybe if I'd addressed the fact that I, myself, was being the one not communicating to my friends what I needed. I'm happy to say I'm breaking those walls down. But wow, that's a great quote. C.S. Lewis was brilliant, truely.

Yikes. I get frustrated when one of my friends gets angry when we can't do something together because I have other plans, yet I practically have an inguinal hernia when plans don't go according to my wishes! I always expect people to be ready to do something at the exact moment and in the manner that I want without thinking of what their wishes might be. Ick. I'm a toxic friend!
